Hollywood's Greg Grande, set director for the hit series Friends, recently chose a black and white toile glider and antique white changing chest to accent last's seasons much anticipated nursery set. A splash of color also becomes a fabulous complement to a black and white motif. Introduce rich reds, warm yellows and fresh greens or add a crib that makes a color statement. Wendy Bellissimo knows what works, from suggesting a light wood floor that made the room appear bigger, to recessed lighting with a dimmer switch that makes the room softer for our twins." Alex Kingston, who plays Dr. Elizabeth Corday on NBC's "ER," had a baby girl and also asked for Bellissimo's magic touch. "It was challenging," says Bellissimo, "because they had a large room and new floor-to-ceiling window coverings and a vintage school print Alex had found at a flea market....I had to incorporate it all into a unisex room that could easily change if their next baby was a boy." The designer used splashes of color on the window woodwork, added a mural and even painted a picture of a little lamb for the sleeping area, while adding a novel picnic style table and chairs to complement the cheery school print in the play area.
